You are a scientist facing an ecological crisis on Mars. Every stage, you should fully rid a grid of cells from Corruption. The more stages you survive, the better.
You click on one of the three cards you start out with. It gets highlighted. After that, you hover on any cell on the grid (but the right or bottom edges) to align the card's pattern with the grid's. While purple and orange colors in the card's pattern are self explanatory, the grey matches empty spaces, and the white matches anything.
Finding the right spot, you click to apply the card at that position. You manage to purify three cells at once. You gained 30 coins from that, but you notice your health took a hit. That's because every cell left unpurified at the end of a turn drains you.
You notice none of your cards match anywhere on your grid. You click the card with a "+" to spend 7 coins for a new one, but that once again got you damaged, as that also advanced the turn. What's worse, the new card was barely good for one spot on the grid.
That's where the three purifiers in your inventory come in handy. Now four, as one of the cells you purified previously dropped another. You click the small powder icon with a counter next to it, seeing it reduce by one, but so did a random corrupted cell on the board.
That got you some more coins, so you draw a lucky card that has a pattern of 3 "any"s, being enough to obliterate the rest of the board but one cell. You use another purifier on that, and you're welcomed to upgrade a card.
The upgrade screen shows three diagonally-filled cells, and one orange one in the bottom-left corner. You don't see any good cards to upgrade with this, so you draw up to a full deck of 7 - doing so during an upgrade phase still costs coins, but not your precious turns.
You upgrade one of the cards you've drawn by selecting it, then clicking upgrade. And so the next stage. And again. Until you eventually die - but that's okay. There's always one more run.
